Giddy Up Little Doggie!

Vannie just took this picture of me at my home for the past 9 months.  It has been a great spot...cool and shady.  My new spot might not be this cool and shady, but I am really looking forward to the next step in my journey.  We had planned to leave this Thursday, but Emilie (Vannie and Dave's daughter) is expecting her second child (a girl) and they thought they just needed to get on out there.  Emilie and her family live in Austin.
I'll be at the roundup at the Lone Star RV Resort...wow..."resort"...how you like dem apples!!!
So giddy up little doggie...Gypsy is comin' to Texas...Watch Out!

Ladies Converge on Gypsy

Just look at these ladies.  They are having the time of their lives.  Vannie belongs to a Study Group that is studying the women of the Bible.  Great group of nine ladies.  Tonight after the lesson, Vannie taught them all how to knit one of those new ruffle scarves.  It was so much fun watching them sitting under my bright blue awning laughing, talking, praying, singing, eating Subway sandwiches and chips, and finishing out the night with the knitting project.  Most had never knitted before so they found holding the needles a challenge.  I enjoyed having them and loved when they came inside and “oohed” and “ahhed” over me.

Fun evening!

INSPIRED BY THE ART AT FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL

I didn’t get to go to the Festival, although Vannie’s son, Ashley took a picture of a cousin of mine that was there.  Heard it was awesome.  Ashley’s wife, Diane, is production coordinator for the Festival.  Big Job!  Vannie and Dave love the Festival...lots of music, dancing, food, and art. Yes, it was the art that inspired Vannie to create a painting on the inside of my front and only door.  Dave loves to cut holes in things, so I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if one day Vannie wakes up and finds a back door has been created.  I just ask him to not make it painful.  Let it be quick and clean!

How did I get off on cutting holes in me?  I do that often.  I blame it on my age or my hard head or the price of eggs in China.  Now back to the subject at hand...art!

Ok...Dave had already put a big metal bottle of pepper sauce on the back of my door.  It looked great and said a lot about us on our journeys.  Always a good conversation starter in the campgrounds.  But after the Festival, we decided the door needed more about Louisiana...music, food, people...so Vannie created the project around the pepper sauce bottle.

Hope you like it!
