BUTTERFLIES ARE FREE

 By:

Minuet in G (MinnieG)

(a 1979 Argosy made by Airstream that is so happy about getting an addition to her outfit.)

Butterflies are free

And so are we...

Vannie and Dave had to come up with a Broadway/Movie theme

for an Airstream Rally in ElDorado, AR. following

their visit to Louisiana.

Since they already had the flower thingy going on,

they decided on the 1972 movie/1969 play entitled

"Butterflies Are Free". The movie starred Goldie Hawn

and Edward Albert.

While in New Iberia, they are under a cover,
so a perfect place to add some butterflies to me.

I love the new addition to my outfit.

V and D's daughter-in-law, Diane
came out to help.

While the girls were painting butterflies,
the boys (son, Ashley and grandson, Cooper) were
helping Dave bend back my door.
Yes, on the way over from Texas,
the door came open while traveling down
the road.  It banged against the side, and bent
back in the middle.  While Ashley and Dave held on to
the top and bottom of the door, Cooper was able to
pop out the middle.
All this without taking the door completely off.
Phew...we were all very thankful.

After all their work, D and V treated them to a
yummy Sunday lunch from Shawn's Grocery
located just down the road in Delcambre, LA.
Vannie picked up the lunches, and they
all enjoyed eating at my little table.

Cooper was star of the day!

Diane and Vannie went shopping...Much-needed, too!!!!  Hee Hee

We are parked right across from the sugar cane field in New Iberia
at Sarah Bourque's Airstream courtesy parking spot.
This beautiful scene was just waiting to be painted.

So....Ashley and Vannie decided they could do it.

Do Not Disturb

We were in South Louisiana for only a short time,
and Corale Acadienne was performing at St. Mary's Church in Lafayette...
...and V and D's best friend, Gordon Bilello, was performing with the choir...
...soooo, he got them tickets.
It was a delightful evening.  The performance was mesmerizing.
Vannie said seeing a bunch of old friends was also a bonus.
Gordon is middle row center.

After the performance Vannie and Dave hooked up with Gordon
and 2 more friends, Danny and Mona Izzo at Drago's Seafood Restaurant.

The Shadows on the Teche is a wonderful old plantation house in New Iberia.
Vannie enjoyed attending an Art's and Craft's festival with Sarah.

New Iberia is the home of George Rodrigue, famous for his oak trees
and THE BLUE DOG.
This Blue Dog has been erected in downtown New Iberia
in honor of George.

Vannie had to swing by Girard Park in Lafayette
to hear some Cajun music.
Festival Acadiens was hoppin'...

Good-bye Lafayette and New Iberia
