THANKSGIVING 2023...NTAC (North Texas Airstream Community)

 By

Gypsy Rhapsody

(a 1977 Airstream that loves her spot at Chateau de Lafayette (Villa 604)

Vannie and Dave were all a dither about

Emilie, Vincent, and Maddie

arriving for Thanksgiving.

Dave created a beautiful window box planted with pansies,

and Vannie filled her mom's fruit bowl with oranges, apples, and bananas.

That fruit bowl is about 75 years old.  It's been riding around in me

since 2011.  It's a miracle it didn't get broken.  The villa is a perfect new home for it.

Much saver, for sure.

Maddie and Vincent arrived on Monday before Thanksgiving.

Let the games begin...Life, Attack Uno, Skipbo, Rummicube...

If you have never played Attack Uno, put it on your bucket list.

Be ready for lots of screaming!!!

Dave had fixed up the attic.
The kids thought they were in a tree house.
They loved it.
Vincent is all hooked up enjoying his games.

Vincent and T-Pop got in some
project time by making a model truck.

                                                                    Those kids can EAT!!!

Goodness gracious, I don't know how Emilie pays her grocery bill.

They LOVED the eggs Vannie bought from the NTAC office manager, Jennifer.

One morning they ate 4 eggs each and 3 pieces of toast.

They must have a hollow leg.

It was a cold morning, but Vannie said that everyone enjoyed Homestead Heritage near Waco.

Their overview on their website says...
Homestead is an agrarian-and craft-based intentional Christian community.  Its literature stresses simplicity, sustainability, self-sufficiency, cooperation, service and quality craftsmanship.  it also strives to live in peaceful coexistence with the land, other people, and other faiths.

Their website is...
homesteadheritage.com

It was nice to get in out of the cold.

Cookies, Cranberry scones, and a hot Mocha Lattes hit the spot!!!

Emilie and Prince arrived on Wednesday.
Emilie was very happy to be here...
not so much Prince.

Vannie said he warmed up after a few hours.

Thanksgiving Morning
Everyone is glued to the TV.
Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, of course...

Thanksgiving dinner at the NTAC rally room wasn't until 2:00,
so everyone had plenty of time to relax and get ready to eat till they popped!

,,,and Maddie did just that!!!
That turkey leg hit the spot!!!

Dave said everyone needed some exercise after that big dinner.
Beanbag Baseball was a start.
Vincent got on base every time he was up to bat.

Emilie did a lot of concentrating...
and got on base... sometimes.

...but Maddie had the best form of all.

Even though Prince didn't eat Thanksgiving dinner,
he needed some exercise.
Emilie enjoyed walking him down one of the beautiful
NTAC paths.
Picture Perfect!!!

One of Maddie's favorite pastimes was walking and playing with
some of the NTAC puppies.
These belong to Cheryl and Doug.
Bootsy and Daisy

Bennie is Dicky's Service dog.
Bennie looks like he is enjoying Maddie's undivided attention.

It was a blessed Thanksgiving.
