PEACE, LOVE AND FLOWER POWER

By
Minuet in G
(a 1979 Argosy getting her groove on)

Vannie and Dave said that my all white exterior was like a huge canvas.

...so they went to work and gave me a new look.

It was a process.  They wanted to keep it simple.

Dave made sure the right paint was used.
Vannie was in her element.
A brush...some paint...and an idea...that's all it took.
Peace...love...and flower power

V and D's friend, Carla, loved the string curtain leading into my bathroom.
They had to assure her that there was a "real" door to the bathroom, also.
She was relieved in more ways than one.

Lafayette is the ultimate place for good food.
Ashley made sure V and D did not miss out on the fresh seafood.
Shrimp and crabs by the dozen...YUM

Dave's daughter-in-law, Diane, works for Festival International.
He dropped by to say "hi", and Diane was showing off a new gift...
a beautiful quilt made from festival t-shirts.
Beautiful.!!!

Oh my goodness...Friends, Timmy and Kitty Credeur,
invited V and D over for an out-of-this-world meal...as only Timmy can create.
As they were ushered in to the dining room, they were greeted by
Timmy and President Trump.
Wonders never cease.!!!

Gordon, Vannie, Dave, Scotty
Caribel Condo owners meeting in Youngsville...
The Caribel is a time-share condo in Red River, NM
in which all of these guys are owners.
Vannie and Dave, also, have part-time jobs at the Caribel June through September.
Scotty cooked up a huge pot of spaghetti and meatballs.
Delicious!!!
Did I say something about lots of good food in Lafayette?
Well, Youngsville is right up there, too.

Herman Mhire and Vannie
Herman and Vannie have been friends on Facebook.
When Herman noticed that V and D were in town, he invited them over for a private showing
of his beautiful home and art.
They were feeling special, for sure.
Vannie said that Herman is having an art opening
March 5...Beauty and the Beast.
Be sure to check it out if you are in the area.

Is you mouth watering?

Valentine's Day Celebration at the Abby Players
with Jan and Chester.
Play..."Death by Design"
Jan and Chester are V and D's travel buddies.

Mardi Gras Rally with the Acadiana Unit...
This was the last rally for this group.
They are merging with the Louisiana Unit next month.

More fabulous food...
Crawfish etouffee

King's Cake
Did I tell you all about the great food in the area?

The king and queen of the rally were Lena and Kerney Saltzman.
What a great king and queen they made!!!

Good friends...Vannie and John Landry
John has been the president of the club for many years.
He, also, directs the dance band at the International Rallies.
John was instrumental in getting Vannie and Dave in the airstream club.
Those good folks taught V and D all they know about airstreams and camping.

Airstreamer, Sarah Bourque
We love Sarah. She was the one that found me on Craig's List in Austin, TX.
She called V and D with the hot tip, and the rest is history.

Then there was the day Vannie met up with Sue Nations, jewelry maker.
Vannie taught Sue's son, Cameron.  Vannie will always remember
Cameron's King Lear performance when he was in her gifted enrichment class.

She gave Vannie a lesson on the art of jewelry making.
Look for some new and exciting pieces of jewelry made by Vannie.
"In the future"...

More crawfish at Dwight's Restaurant with friend, Rose.
Did I mention that the food around these parts is to die for?

Check out that other airstream...
It belongs to Kathy and Howard Matt. They are the owners
of this property and are so generous to let us park here while we are in town.
We are all gathered round the campfire in Youngsville
waiting for the Youngsville Mardi Gras parade to begin.

Youngsville's finest revs it up for the beginning of the parade.

There were 96 floats in the parade.

Ashley and his family came out to join in the fun.

Cooper and Diane waiting for more beads.

Back in me waiting for the burgers...
Guess there was important things going on in the iphone world.  Hee Hee

Sweet Cooper getting sweeter munching on a loaf of Vannie's banana bread.

Bye Bye Lafayette/Youngsville folks...
PEACE
LOVE
FLOWER POWER

(Vannie apologizes for missing taking a pictures of some folks.  It was probably because she had her mouth full of yummy food and her fingers were too messy to hold her phone. It was wonderful seeing so many good friends, and they are looking forward to the next trip to South Louisiana...for sure.)

Heading to Austin, Texas
