LOT OF FUN IN AUSTIN, TEXAS

By

Minuet in G

(a 1979 Argosy made by Airstream that has decided she's Texan)

Yep, it's official...I'm Texan.
Vannie and Dave still have a
hard time saying they are Texan.
In fact, if the truth be known,
they still say they are from Louisiana.
It might not ever happen, folks,
so I'm just moving on.

It' s been a wonderful two months in Austin.
Lots to do around these parts, for sure.
It's probably going to take me a couple of
more blogs to get it all in.

Don't you just adore this.
Vannie's friend, Lois, gave her this
model of me last year. It didn't look exactly like me
at the time, but Vannie did a little work on it...
and now, it is the spittin' image of me.

The bluebonnets have been glorious.
They are everywhere...highways, byways, nooks and crannies.

D and V had lots of projects while in Austin.
This one was some lawn chair carriers.
Dave came up with this idea.
hmmmmm

Vannie's still sewing on her mama's machine.
They don't make them like this anymore.
There will be a picture of the carriers in a future blog.
They are still in progress.

This mama bird built a nest on the ground right by our bar-be-que grill.
She had 5 babies. She is busy feeding them.
Dave googled her...a tufted titmouse.
She probably would object to the angle of this shot.

A project at Emilie's was to get her patio cleaned off...
get some new chairs...and start grilling.
Emilie ordered that red triangle from Amazon.

Then we added a bigger table (garage sale purchase)
and invited the neighbors.

Next was fixing up another area in the yard that was
kinda useless...even Prince was a little tired of it.

Some fencing was purchased at Home Depot.
Emilie and Dave stained it, and now they are moving it to the backyard.

and drop down into the hammock swing...
Can't have a hammock swing and not have a little head sticking out!!!

One the other end of the yard is the trampoline.
On a hot summer's day...a trampoline with a mister is a must.
Emilie and Vincent put that whole thing together all by themselves.
Vannie and Dave were amazed and proud.

Some diversion from projects...
WonderSpaces Art Gallery
Vannie and Dave really enjoyed all the creations.
Amazing

Dave was getting in a little Art Therapy.
He was splashing color just by moving his arms.

In one direction...a bunch of dots...

Moving in another direction...
a face of the artist's wife.
Incredible

These 2 garbage workers were moving trash to match the hands of a clock.
The diameter of the clock was about 20 plus feet.
V and D were standing in front of this image at actually 10:25.
How da do dat?

I love it when the kids come out.
Maddie and her friend

The gang enjoyed rummaging through a box of old jewelry.

Maddie especially loved these earrings that belonged to her great grandmother.

When it's not enough room in me, Vannie moves to
the truck to complete her online art lesson by Tricia Robinson.

Vannie's completed project
Paint, paper, glue

Always a joy to meet up with old friends from Lafayette
that have moved to Austin.
Harvey and Joan Bollich
(Dave said...Sorry I got them in the shadows.)
Vannie taught with Joan at Broadmoor Elementary.

Bob and Melba Thomas
The Bayou Church Friends

Ahhh...nuttin' like the smell of banana bread
Betcha can't eat just one loaf...oops, I mean piece.

Later
