GO WEST YOUNG MAN/WOMAN

 By

Gypsy Rhapsody

(a 1977 Airstream that loves feeling cooler)

...and

the mountains of Northern NM is where the air

is fresh and cool...clear and blue...

and ya gotta go WEST to get there.

Come on, Pot-na,

Follow me as I guide you westward...

Tye RV Park
Tye, TX...near Sweetwater
Dave said, "Hi, y'all."

There were planes going over us that were "bigger'n Dallas"...
and louder, too.

Richard's RV Park
Shallow Water, TX...near Lubbock
There's "ain't" no place like Richard's.
Richard is Texan through and through.
"Sho-nuf" he is!!!

When we "lit out" the next morning...
it had come a "toad choker" during the night.
The water was not too sweet...
nor too shallow...
I thought V and D were going to have a "conniption fit".

I "reckon" it was time for a little history lesson.

We stopped for "a spell" at this little turn-off...

and "dad burn it" if there wasn't one of those little signs

that tells you a bunch of info about Texas...

Nice to learn something new!

Vannie was 'rarin' to get goin'.

She knew the next stop would be NM.

I "reckon" she made it...
Santa Rosa Lake State Park
Santa Rosa, NM

Dave said there was more rocks and dirt on the trail

than you could "shake a stick at".

But it "sure as tootin'" looks like the flowers

found a way to peek their pretty heads up.

๐ŸŽœ"Thar's an old cowhand"๐ŸŽ

Vannie kept making a "fuss" every time she saw one of these cactus flowers.
They are just so "goll-darn" purdy!

"Hitched up the wagon",
and headed down the road again.
"Dad Gum it", that NM sky is
"as purdy as a peach"...if peaches were blue.  ๐Ÿ˜€

Made it to Loretta's house in Rio Rancho.
Friend, Carmen came over, and they all
had a "hoot and holler" good time
for Vannie's birthday.

Vannie is cookin' up a "mess of vittles."

...and Dave looks like he is "handkerin'" to eat.

"Come hell or high water", we all made it to Questa...

our home for the summer.

"Can't beat that with a stick!!!

That sunset is gorgeous as "all git-out".

This" aint't my first rodeo", folks.

"Darn tootin'" this blog is is a wee bit corny.
