ANOTHER COUSIN EXPERIENCE

 By

Minuet in G (MinnieG)

(a 1979 Argosy, made by Airstream, that is loving meeting V and D's cousins)

Hickories Park Campground

                                                                   Owego, New York

This was a beautiful campground.
Vannie and Dave enjoyed the walking trails.
The park was crowded.  We were not sure that
we were going to get a spot, but, thankfully,
one appeared down by the river.

Dave unhooked me, because they were anxious
to see Diana, Vannie's cousin.
Diana is Vannie's first cousin on her Mom's side of the family.
Her dad was Leonard Green, Madge's brother.
V and D were greeted by these gorgeous hydrangea's.
Vannie had blue and pink ones at your home in Bernice, LA,
but this was a color she hadn't seen before.

Diana and Vannie enjoyed sharing old times.

Diana served V and D spiedie.
Spiedie is an Italian dish made with herbs, spices, oil and vinegar.
It can be made with lamb, chicken, beef or pork.
Spiedie can be served on salad, Italian bread, or rice...or just eaten alone.
Yummy...to say the least!

Owego is a cute little village located by the Susquehanna River.

Owego comes from an Iroquois word Ahwaga,
meaning "where the valley widens".
It was first settled in the late 1700's.

The leaves were beginning to change.
V and D were loving the "Diana Tour".
We headed out of Owego toward...
Binghamton
Johnston City
Vestal...
and probably some places in-between.
It seems all these little villages/towns mesh into each other.
You hardly know when you've left one
and entered another one.

It was so much fun visiting with Diana's kids.
Vannie had never met any of them.
Diana has 3 girls...Kris, Kim, Shannon.
This was Shannon's house...
and Kris just happened to be visiting.
Shannon (jean jacket)
Kris (Audrey Hepburn shirt)
Kim wasn't home, so we'll have to visit with her next time around.

Vannie and Dave could see and feel the family connection.
So much fun!!!!

V and D brought Diana back to see me.
Actually I think they were trying to kidnap her.

On the road again...
Vannie and Dave were feeling the "cousin" love.

The leaves were changing more and more as we headed east.

Dave said it was hard to really capture the incredible beauty.

Our last stop of the day was at
Frosty Acres RV near Schenectady, NY

Vannie is hoping her Bernice friends enjoy this blog.
Diana is a hometown girl.
