IT'S NOT MY FAULT

It's not my fault that I only posted one time in October.
Vannie and Dave left me on October 8 heading to Louisiana
for 50th high school reunions.  They were supposed to
return in just a few days.  Well, plans changed, and they didn't
return until November 3.  Usually Vannie sends me pics on my
phone...or by email, but she broke her camera and LUS fiber email
has been up and down for several weeks.  FINALLY, they are back,
so enjoy.

Just little ole me on our sight in Hillsboro.
North Texas Airstream Community
Love this place...I have so many friends here.

Vannie did gussy me up a bit before she left.
I do love looking pretty.

Dave's High School Reunion

Tornado damage in Monroe, LA
Vannie, Dave, and Pearl (Dave's mom) were in Pearl's car.
Scary

Oprah weekend in Houston...
How did Vannie get those tickets?
But the big question is...How did she get Dave to go with her?

Oprah...can you see her? She is that VERY small lady in the
middle of the yellow circle.  Obviously, V and D were in
the nosebleed section.  Vannie said 10,000 people.  Dave said
there were lots of empty urinals in his bathroom.  LOL

On to Lafayette, LA...Cooper

...gumbo

...Bach Lunch

Cooper, the little potter

Garage sale customers
Coleman Tent and sleeping bags for $14...
What a bargain!

Sweet Dough Pie Festival
Grand Coteau, LA
Vannie said there were sweet dough pies of every flavor...
lemon, sweet potato, coconut, blackberry, cherry, pumpkin, etc. etc. etc.

Cooper, the rock climber

Cooper, the bowler
I think V and D had fun with the little guy.

Back to Farmerville
Pearl's 96th birthday
Friends came over with food, presents, cake.

Austin, TX next on the agenda...
Halloween
Emilie, Roy, Vincent, Madeline

V - Power Ranger
M - Ninja Turtle

V and D really enjoyed the neighborhood fun.

The kids look like they were not sure about getting candy out of THAT bowl.
Note...the scary hand...Dave said it moved.

As we speak, we are all back in Hillsboro together.
V and D are
...washing clothes
...going to  doctor visits
...getting back on a healthy eating plan
...visiting with old friend
...watching TV
...and lovin' the good memories they made during these last few weeks.

I am sure glad to have them back.

THE EYES OF TEXAS ARE UPON ME

By
Gypsy Rhapsody

The Eyes of Texas are upon me, even as I was heading out from New Mexico.  Here you see me leaving Mrs. Gonzales' RV...my home for the last 4 months.

God gave me a big shout-out as we headed out of NM...

These are "Texas Eyes", for sure...Cadillac Sculptures heading into  Amarillo.
Notice Dave and Vannie shadow selfies...

"Texas Eyes" kept me company during the night at the Texas Travel Center in Amarillo.
I felt like a pee-mite between these two "eyes"...but very safe.

"Texas Eyes" early in the morning...

Back to Hillsboro...and 2 of the cutest "Texas Eyes" spend the weekend with V and D and me.
Emilie (V and D's daughter) met us in Temple, TX and handed off Madeline and Vincent to Vannie and Dave.  They stayed for 4 days...so much "Texas" fun.

Pioneer Days in Whitney, TX...with "Texas Eyes" all over the place.
Vannie said that little town knows how to "do" a fair.
Maddie and Vincent loved the roller coaster.

...and the motorcyles

...and, of course, the games.

City Park in Hillsboro, TX
Water, water everywhere, and not a drop to drink.
Dave said he could almost feel the "Texas Eyes" following him around the park...helping everyone have a great time.

Breakfast in Me..."Texas Eyes" watching over us early in the morning.
Pancakes and Eggs
I was smellin' goooood.

All cozy snuggled up inside me.

Texas Blue Eyes

After church on Sunday...eating cookies that they had just made.
Chocolate chip...delicious...then they shared them with our "Texas Eyes" neighbors.

Great to be back!!!!

The Eyes of Texas are upon you.
All the live long day.
The Eyes of Texas are upon you.
You can not get away.
Do not think you can escape them...
At night and early in the morn.
The Eyes of Texas are upon you.
Till Gabriel blows His Horn...

AMEN

THE PARTY'S OVER

By
Gypsy Rhapsody

The Party's over.
All good things must come to an end.
Se acabo la fiesta.
Todas las cosas Deben llegar a sur fin.
No matter how many ways you say it, it's never easy.
Tomorrow we will head out into the sunset for Texas and Louisiana.
It has been a great summer...but to tell you the truth, I am ready to get on the road.
Vannie and Dave have been running all over the place, and I have been pretty much put.  Now, don't get me wrong, I've loved it...but I am ready for some different scenery.

Of course, our last days here have been busy.

V and D took a little spin to Alamosa. CO and came back through Manasa.
This is the hometown of Jack Demsy, the famous boxer.
V said it was a great little museum honoring the hometown hero.

Gosh...a little rain had fallen. This was heading back to New Mexico from Colorado.

Berry pickin' time.
Mrs. Gonzales, our landlord, said these were champes or rosehips in English.
These bushes were full of beautiful wild roses  when we first arrived.
Now, there are little hips everywhere.  Lots of people are telling us that bears love them.
I think we are getting out of here just in time, because they are all around me.
Bears are cute, but I really don't want to see one.

Champes make for some yummy jelly.

More berry pickin'...These are raspberries.
V and D had to go over to a little town called Mora to get these little delights.

I love it when the friends come to see me.
Jerry Lautigar came over for a bowl of gumbo.
Remember last week I told you about meeting up with Jerry and a bunch of other Bernice folks.
The rest of the group had gone, but Jerry was still hanging around...so Vannie thought he needed a good home cooked meal.

More friends ...
Don't they look cozy sitting there on that sofa inside me.
I'm lovein' it!!!!
Loretta...Vannie...Vicki (Loretta's cousin)

I'm sorry...pictures with me and friends makes me feel all lovey-dovey.

As if there wasn't enough to do the last week we were here,
V and D added ballroom dance lessons.
This is them with Mark and Susan, their instructors.
Mark and Susan are from Forth Worth.

The lessons were at the Community House.
Look at Susan.
I'm hurting just looking at her.

After lessons, the class would head on down to the Mother Lode Saloon and practice.

There they are getting ready to "cut a rug.'
The rumba, the foxtrot, the waltz, and the tango

Aspencade...Last big festival of the season
This is right downtown Red River.
Food, crafts, music, Fun...

The Aspens are bursting out all over.

I just wish all of you reading my blog could be here to see this first hand.
Words can not describe it.
Beautiful, Magnificent, Fabulous, and on and on and on...

Good by, New Mexico
Hello, Texas and Louisiana
