RAIN...GATORS...SAINTS

Rain, Rain, Go Away...Little Vannie wants to play!  We are really getting the feel of South Louisiana.  It's wet...very wet!  Just look at this first picture.  To get to the truck, Vannie had to take off her shoes and roll up her pants.  But did that stop her...NOT!  Get out of the way...it's play time...and V and D were not going to let a little rain stop them.

...and it was cold, too!

Champagnes is located on Lake Martin near St. Martinville, LA

V and D saw this in a small museum behind the church.

Saint Kateri Tekakwitha
Native American
Canonized 2012 by the Roman Catholic Church
Kateri is an old friend of V and D's.  They were invited to a dedication of her statue at the Pueblo near Albuquerque, NM in 2013.  And here she is in St. Martinville...small world!

  2. There are many Native Americans in the area of St.Martinville. I'm assuming this statue was erected in their honor...being she is the only native American to be canonized in the Catholic Church. I am pretty sure Mary Magdeline is NOT Algonquin.
