Feliz cumpleanos a ti

Yes...Vannie's another year older...or maybe I should say younger.
She would like that better.
I notice Facebook splashes everyone's age all over the place,
but we won't mention here.

It was a great birthday.
She and Dave did not have to work,
so they headed to Alamosa, Colorado.

Here's the birthday girl heading out for her big day.

Vannie said the scenery is one of the reasons they
like to go into Colorado from New Mexcio.

Breathtaking

God outdid Himself, for sure.

Maywa Oriental Restaurant
Downtown Alamosa, CO
Vannie got the noodle bowl
and Dave got broccoli and chicken.
Delicious.!

Yes...you guessed it...Alamosa has a Starbucks in their Safeway Grocery Store.
Vannie was soooo excited about getting her FREE birthday coffee.
When she ordered, the lady said that they were not set up to give the FREE coffee.
Oh, No...Vannie was a wee bit disappointed, but she got the coffee anyway
and the cake pop, also.
(She WILL email Starbucks about this faux pas.)

No...V and D did not get in a fight on the way home.
They took a different route and stopped in Manasa, CO
at the Jack Demsey Museum.  Just happens to be his hometown.
It was a little gem of a museum, not the best selfie in the world.
Dave must have thought it was his birthday. LOL
Hold your horses, Dave...your's is coming up soon enough.

Just have to get in a birthday walk...remember 10,000 steps a day.
Headed up the hill in St. Luis, CO to the Chapel of All Saints.
Such a beautiful walk.

Love this shot...irises, church, blue sky...

Still going strong at the end of the day.
Red River has a new adventure.
Pioneer ZipLine
When Vannie told the man it was her birthday,
he let her go for FREE.
Wheeeeeeeeeeee.!
She'll post a video on FB later.

Vannie had a great surprise when she got home.
I didn't breathe a word...and it is hard for me to keep a secret.
The kids surprised her with a gift certificate
for the Bull O' the Woods Saloon/Restaurant in Red River.
They have a great steak dinner. Yum.!

The end of a fabulous day.
This is a really amazing thing that happens sometimes
at sunset right behind me.
If the sun is just right...about 8:10 pm
the mountain starts to glow.
It is like magic.

Can you believe that???

We are all just amazed ...
and it happened on Vannie's birthday.

SWEET.!!!
